  <mods:abstract>
Prevalence and the rate of cognitive decline in the elderly populations has increased in the United States and worldwide. Despite certain known links, much of causation in unknown. Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning to such an extent that it interferes with a person’s daily life. Past studies have found correlations between dementia and household income level, education-level, and stress level. By examining a covariate associated with known risk factors, we hope to aid future research in early detection.
