- "Brejo das almas" reflects the distillation of a complex of different attitudes, a variety of seemingly absurd or ironic positions, a division (between human being and poet) that leaves a sense of total ambiguity. Examining such division, one perceives that Drummond faced a crisis—that crisis is "Brejo das almas."
