Abstract:: António J. Miranda foi uma figura notável de Santo Tirso e um dos mais admiráveis cultores da genuína expressão da liberdade tolerante de Fernando Pessoa. Nestas notas, o seu filho, José António Miranda, traça o notável perfil de um homem singular pela liberdade com que viveu a convicção de que o indivíduo deve constituir-se à imagem das grandes lições da Biologia: adaptando-se às circunstâncias e lutando no sentido de se aprimorar, perdurando no tempo e dando continuidade a um empenhado papel cívico. Inclui-se ainda, em post-scriptum, uma nota de Luís de Noronha e Távora, em memória da liberdade deste homem de excepção, cuja colecção pessoana neste número celebramos.; António Miranda was a notable man in Santo Tirso and one of the most admirable exponents of the genuine expression of tolerant liberty of Fernando Pessoa. In these notes, his son, José António Miranda, gives us the profile of a remarkable man who lived with the conviction that the individual should be shaped by the great lessons we may learn from Biology: adapting to the circumstances and fighting to improve, lasting in time and continually keeping an effort to be civic-minded. In a post-scriptum, there is also a note to be found of Luís Noronha Távora, recalling the liberty of this exceptional man whose collection on Pessoa we celebrate in this number.
