Abstract (lang="por")
Abstract (lang="eng")
This interview was granted to the team of Coojomal, a press agency of the Cooperative of Journalists of Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, and republished in the first issue of the newspaper Feira do Livro, from the same city, in 1980. It was recovered by the writer's widow, Nydia Guimarães, and is now part of the Archive of Press Publications of the Literary Collection of Josué Guimarães, an entity maintained by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. Expressing political and aesthetic positions with the frankness characteristic of the novelist, short-story writer and playwright Josué Guimarães, who passed away in 1986, the interview traces a profile of the combative intellectual that he was under two Brazilian dictatorships of the 20th century.
