- In addition to being a great Brazilian author, Clarice Lispector is also a distinguished Latin American writer. Her novelistic production corresponds to the rise of the "new Hispano-American narrative," the literary genre that marked the arrival of Latin American literature on the international stage. If we read her fiction in this critical context, how would it look? Specifically, if we include the fiction of Clarice Lispector in our interpretation of the "new Hispanic American narrative," what would we say of it? What contribution would it make to our now comparative understanding of the development of the Latin American "new novel"? These are the questions examined in this essay. The conclusion is that Clarice establishes (as early as 1944, in 'Perto do coração selvagem') a definitive feminine presence for Latin American literature and, in doing so, she practices a new—and essentially poststructuralist—concept of language and its relationship with human existence with and writing itself.

- Além de grande autora brasileira, Clarice Lispector é também uma distinguida escritora latino-americana. Sua produção novelística corresponde à ascensão da "nueva narrativa hispanoamericana", o gênero literário que marcou a chegada da literatura latino-americana no palco internacional. Se lêssemos a sua ficção nesse contexto crítico, como nos pareceria? Especificamente, se incluíssemos a ficção de Clarice Lispector na nossa interpretação da "nueva narrativa hispanoamericana", o que diríamos dela? Que contribuição faria à nossa compreensão, agora comparativa, do desenvolvimento do "novo romance" latinoamericano? Essas são as perguntas examinadas neste ensaio. A conclusão é que ela estabelece (já em 1944, em ‘Perto do coração selvagem’) uma definitiva presença feminina para a literatura latino-americana e, ao fazer isso, pratica um novo – e essencialmente pós-estruturalista – conceito da linguagem e de sua relação com a existência humana e a própria escrita.
