- Abstract
- Abstract
(lang="eng")
- This article examines the intertextual dialogue between Directa (1977), by Nuno Bragança, and Fernando Pessoa’s poetry, especially Mensagem and Álvaro de Campos’s Ode Marítima. Through close reading, it highlights the multiple parallels in themes such as national identity, historical destiny, and the metaphor of journey. By integrating Pessoa’s verses into the novel’s narrative, Bragança simultaneously pays homage to and transforms Pessoa’s legacy, projecting it into a broader reflection on Portugal’s future and the evolution of humanity.
