'Noite', a psychoanalytic novel by Erico Veríssimo

Description

Abstract:
The aim of this work is to analyse ‘Noite’ based on Freud and Lacan. From the former it will take the concept of emotional ambivalence, the drive theory and the clinical case Wolfman, especially the effects from the primary scene within this last one. From the latter it will work with the notions of mirror stage, of nachträglich action of the signifier and with the theory of desire. The analysis will be presented at the second and third sections, leaving the first to justify why the novel is psychoanalytical. The dialogue with the literary criticism about the author occurs within the introduction and conclusion.
