- Abstract
- Abstract
(lang="eng")
- United by the same language and a close secular relationship, Portuguese and Brazilian literature almost ignored each other during the Modernist period, which was, incidentally, one of the most fertile periods of their history. This article will not mention the causes of that mutual unfamiliarity (among which the growing nationalist wave and world war). It will only focus on the few, delayed or late, and more or less disproportionate or even wrong references that Brazilian Modernism elicited in Portugal, having been, however, generally welcomed with clear affection and warm understanding.
