- Abstract
- Inspired by three distinct ragas/raaginis — Vrindavani Sarang, Shankara, and Raagini Bhoop — string quintet जिजीविषा explores the fusion of Indian and Western classical traditions, producing a work that draws onWestern melodic and harmonic structures while remaining rooted in the aesthetics and emotive qualities of Indian ragas. The piece showcases my ability to synthesize the characteristics of Indian ragas with the writing palette of a Western orchestra. Ultimately, जिजीविषा reflects my passion for cross-cultural musical dialogues.
