<mods:abstract lang="eng">In the hiatus between the publications of Distância (1914) and Elogio da paisagem (1915), Alfredo Guisado (1891-1975) wrote seven poems that make part of a book that is yet unpublished and is in Fernando Távora’s archive. The set of poems is entitled As cinco chagas de Cristo [Christ’s Five Wounds], however, this is not the book published in 1927, that has the same title. Dated in 1915, with poems sent to Fernando Pessoa and Mário de Sá-Carneiro, this book presents a ritual in which the lyrical I becomes Christ’s Passion stage, due to phenomena related to the figure of the double as a result of intersectionist processes of time and space. The present “I”, when recognizes himself decayed, seeks, in a neoplatonic way, a transcendental “I” that is mediated by the divinity. In this paper, I transcribe and analyze the poems from this unpublished work in its relations to Guisado’s published books.</mods:abstract>
