A2025-025 Born in Liverpool to Jamaican parents, Patrick Graham is a poet, self-published writer, actor, and workshop facilitator working under the performance name Black Out Productions. His workshops, delivered in schools, youth centres, and community organisations, range from poetry, creative writing, and drama skills to explorations of local and world history, with a special focus on African civilisations and Black contributions to world history. Patrick’s performances have taken him to the Liverpool Everyman Theatre, The Unity Theatre, and community stages, where he has appeared in educational and historical plays. A passionate researcher, he is a member of the Liverpool Black History Research Group and dedicates much of his free time to studying both local and global history. A graduate of Liverpool Hope University in Creative & Performing Arts, Patrick’s career has spanned creative arts, journalism, and community advocacy. He is a former Community Reporter for Liverpool 8, where he focused on stories rooted in the area, and has previously worked for the Liverpool Echo. He has also held roles in immigration advice, advocacy, and youth and community support work in Liverpool and Manchester. Patrick is the author of The Three Little Jamaicans: An English Adventure, a children’s book he regularly reads from at community events. Currently, he works as a Personal Advisor with Liverpool City Council’s Leaving Care Service, guiding young people in gaining independence, securing housing, and accessing education, employment, and training. Through his art, activism, and teaching, Patrick continues to inspire others with his commitment to creativity, heritage, and community.
