Através de poemas, fragmentos em prosa e cartas, evidencia-se a construção de uma identidade literária afastada da “gente banal”, que privilegia o isolamento, o génio e a missão de se dever à “humanidade futura”. Combinando perspetivas estéticas, filosóficas e sociológicas, o artigo enquadra a poética pessoana nas tensões modernistas entre individualidade e coletividade, imperfeição humana e transcendência, reafirmando a literatura como forma de “melhorar a Vida”. This study examines Fernando Pessoa’s self-conception as a poet of exception, tracing its early manifestations in Alexander Search and other heteronyms.
