<mods:mods xmlns:mods="http://www.loc.gov/mods/v3" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.loc.gov/mods/v3 http://www.loc.gov/standards/mods/v3/mods-3-7.xsd"><mods:titleInfo><mods:title>The Atlas of Protein-Protein Interactions in Cancer</mods:title></mods:titleInfo><mods:typeOfResource authority="primo">text_resources</mods:typeOfResource><mods:abstract>Cancer is a complex disease with heterogenous mutational and gene expression patterns. Analyzing the complex architecture could demonstrate subgroups of patients who share specific networks with a shared phenotype. To achieve this, we analyzed publicly available RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data from cancer patients across ten different tissue types and identified PPIs specific to 26 distinct cancer subtypes. We developed the Atlas of Protein-Protein Interactions in Cancer (APPIC), a web application that provides visual network diagrams of these interactions. Additionally, APPIC compiles biological and clinical information from various databases, including the Human Protein Atlas, Hugo Gene Nomenclature Committee, g:Profiler, cBioPortal, and CLUE. APPIC uncovers the specific mechanisms that drive different cancer subtypes.
