Wie kam das Bauhaus zu seinem Namen?

Description

Abstract:
This essay describes the use of the name "Bauhaus" before Walter Gropius applied it to the newly founded school in Weimar in 1919. It had been used by the conservative Berlin architect Albert Gessner from 1915-1920. The essay appeared in the Journal architectura. The journal has fallen behind with its publication schedule. While the essay came out in 2021, it is confusingly labelled as 2018.
