<mods:abstract lang="eng">In this article, focusing on the reception of Ronald de Carvalho’s poetry in Portugal, partic-ular attention is given to the poems that the Brazilian poet published between 1914 and 1921, especially through the magazine A Águia, as well as some critical reactions that his poetry elicited. Some of these poems were included in Poemas e Sonetos (1919), with notable variations. In the Appendices, there is a letter from Fernando Pessoa to Ronald de Carvalho about the book Luz Gloriosa (1913), which deserves to be republished (both the draft and the sent version), and a posthumous letter to the same recipient, written by Vitorino Nemésio. In this letter, the Azorean writer argues that Portugal and Brazil should unite in defending and promoting their common language, without disregarding the differences between their speakers.</mods:abstract>
<mods:abstract lang="por">Neste artigo, sobre a receção da poesia de Ronald de Carvalho em Portugal, destacam-se os poemas que o poeta brasileiro deu à estampa entre 1914 e 1921, nomeadamente a través da revista A Águia, e algumas reações críticas que a sua poesia suscitou. Alguns desses poemas foram incluídos em Poemas e Sonetos (1919), com notáveis variações. Nos Anexos figura uma carta de Fernando Pessoa para Ronald de Carvalho, sobre o livro Luz Gloriosa (1913), que merecia ser reeditada (o rascunho e a versão enviada), e outra póstuma, para o mesmo destinatário, redigida por Vitorino Nemésio, em que o escritor açoriano defende que Portugal e o Brasil se devem unir na defesa e afirmação da sua língua comum sem prejuízo das diferenças entre os seus falantes.</mods:abstract>
