- Abstract
- This dissertation explores the problem of progress in the subjectivities of black women through the lens of desire. Accompanying this philosophical lens of desire are the concepts of faith, anarchism, temporality, and transcendence. Methods used in this dissertation include philosophical, theoretical, ethical, literary and speculative. The mixed method approach employed in this dissertation aligns with the interdisciplinary framework engaging the fields of philosophy, ethics, politics, theology, literature, afropessimism, and black feminist thought.
