The results, however, have been mostly negative, and interpreters have primarily chosen to emphasize the limits of Husserl’s phenomenology in the face of the “absolute objectivism” of the verses of Alberto Caeiro, the “neo-pagan” poet whom Fernando Pessoa designates as the “master” of his heteronyms. Nevertheless, we believe that another interpretation is possible without denying the insurmountable gap that separates Edmund Husserl and Alberto Caeiro, a heteronym of Fernando Pessoa, due to the principle underlying both the poetic and phenomenological attitude: the “pure vision.” Não têm faltado tentativas de aproximação entre Fernando Pessoa e Edmund Husserl, interpretando a poética de um à luz da filosofia do outro, ainda que com a devida cautela, dada a total ausência de contacto entre ambos e a evidente diversidade de intenções. Os resultados têm sido, no entanto, maioritariamente negativos e os intérpretes têm optado essencialmente por sublinhar os limites da fenomenologia husserliana face ao “objetivismo absoluto” dos versos de Alberto Caeiro, o poeta “neopagão” que Fernando Pessoa designa como o “mestre” dos seus heterónimos. Pensamos, no entanto, que uma outra leitura é possível sem, por isso, negar o hiato intransponível que separa Edmund Husserl e Alberto Caeiro, heterónimo de Fernando Pessoa, pelo princípio que subjaz tanto à atitude poética como à atitude fenomenológica: a “visão pura”.
