- The Nothingness Club – O Clube do Nada (2023) is likely Edgar Pêra’s most comprehensive and profound exploration of Fernando Pessoa’s rich and multifaceted universe, with its seemingly boundless network of meanings and interpretative possibilities. This paper discusses some processes related to the question of authorship, focusing on two main axes: the relationship between Pessoa’s perspectives on his authorial project and how it is redefined in the film; and the way the filmic reinterpretation of figures and key elements of Pessoa's life and work contribute to a certain estrangement regarding the poet’s principles, leading at times to ambiguous reactions from the audience. I propose an examination of certain reading habits shaped by the weight of Pessoa’s programmatic and self-reflective texts, and how these habits continue to influence much of the critical tradition dedicated to his work.

- The Nothingness Club – O Clube do Nada (2023) corresponde, provavelmente, à mais ampla e significativa incursão de Edgar Pêra no universo complexo e plural de Fernando Pessoa e na sua infinita rede de sentidos e potencialidades interpretativas. Neste texto, discutem-se alguns processos relacionados com a questão da autoria, em torno de dois eixos fundamen-tais: a relação entre as perspectivas de Pessoa relativamente ao seu projeto autoral e o modo como este é redefinido no filme; e a forma como a reinterpretação fílmica de figuras e núcleos da vida e da obra de Pessoa contribui para um certo estranhamento em relação aos princípios propostos pelo poeta, gerando, por vezes, reações ambíguas por parte do público. Trata-se de uma análise dos hábitos de leitura derivados do peso dos textos programáticos e autorreflexivos de Pessoa, e de como continuam a influenciar grande parte da tradição crítica pessoana, inclusive no nível das reinterpretações da biografia do autor do drama em gente.
