<mods:title>132. Consultation on the Draft National Environment Policy (Memo for NAC on NEP)</mods:title>
</mods:titleInfo>
<mods:abstract>A consultation on the draft National Environment Policy took place at the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) on 15 February 2005. The consultation was convened by the MoEF and involved about 35 participants, including representatives of the MoEF, the Ministry of Power, the National Advisory Council, and about 15 civil society organisations (CSO) concerned with environmental issues. Among the CSO representatives, some had been invited by the MoEF and others by the Secretariat of the NAC. The MoEF had reservations about some of the NAC invitees but agreed to let them participate.</mods:abstract>
