- Our study examines A Educação do Estoico, attributed to the fictional author Barão de Teive [Fernando Pessoa], through the lens of thanatographic criticism to explore a form of “educa¬tion through the underground.” This notion, in dialogue with Antonio Candido’s A Educação Pela Noite, emerges in suicidal writing as both a philosophical initiation into death and a sty¬listic engagement with finitude. The underground instigates a “saturation of nothingness” in the suicidal impulse and mobilizes a confessional self-inquiry through an inverted maieutic process. We argue that literary suicide functions as a liminal image of Pessoa’s drama em gente, shaping a dialogical understanding of the human condition through philosophical and literary freedom.

- Nossa análise d’A Educação do Estoico, do fictício Barão de Teive [Fernando Pessoa], insere-se na crítica tanatográfica para explorar uma forma de “educação pelo subterrâneo”. Em diá-logo com A Educação Pela Noite, de Antonio Candido, essa escrita suicidária opera como ini-ciação filosófica à morte e como estilização da finitude. O subterrâneo instiga a “saciedade do nada” do impulso suicida e mobiliza uma auto-informe-confissão por meio de uma mai-êutica in¬vertida. Argumentamos que o suicídio literário funciona como imagem limítrofe do “drama em gente” pessoano, elaborando um saber dialógico sobre a condição humana por meio da liberdade filosófico-literária.
