Baseball, World Series, 1948: (signed by the Cleveland Indians world champion team and their manager, Lou Boudreau)

Description

Abstract:
1948 World Series baseball signed by the Cleveland Indians world champion team and their manager, Lou Boudreau, at the request of their teammate, catcher, Rollie Hemsley. An early member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Hemsley became one of the first A.A. members to sacrifice the shield of anonymity when he gave news interviews in 1940 publicizing the movement that had enabled him to stop drinking and become known as "the star who hitched himself to a wagon."
