The RIH 3DLab EMH 3D Anatomic Holoimage Collection contains open-source* three-dimensional, de-identified anatomical imaging .fbx** and .obj*** files constructed from live-patient medical imaging studies that were completed at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH). Source image study modalities include computed tomography (CT), CT angiogram (CTA), magnetic resonance (MR), and diffusion-weighted MR imaging (DWI). The holoimage files are uploaded for public dissemination as a proof-of-concept for shared, collaborative application of sophisticated medical images and visualization techniques for education, training, and research purposes. The images have been formatted for accessible 3D virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) use on commercially available devices such as Microsoft HoloLens (with 3DViewer beta) and Oculus Rift. Free software for viewing .fbx and .obj files is currently available from various web sources.
