Agriculture: biggest growth industry in the U.S.

Description

Abstract:
There is growing international demand for US farm production, bringing pressure to relax government control over agriculture. The EEC's protectionist policy keeps U.S. prices above world price in order to support American farmers. Due to this higher demand, traditional family farms are forced to expand or be replaced by large-scale mechanized corporate farms with small workforces.
