Abstract:
An interview with Palestinian leader, legislator, and founder Hanan Ashrawi of the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) is presented. Topics discussed include the importance of international attention for the Palestinian and Israeli conflict, the significance of recognizing Palestine as a member state of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and whether her gender affect her work as the first woman elected to the Palestinian National Council.
