- Abstract:
- The article discusses agendas relating to the empowerment of women and girls and the engagement of men and boys in the international development field. Topics addressed include gender relations' limited concept in the discourse about gender equality campaigns, the benefits of removing the strictures of a binary understanding of gender, the evolution of the concept of gender equality in the 20th century, and the displacement of gender equality by empowerment.
