- The article discusses various dimensions of sub-Saharan Africa's economic growth and development. Topics covered include whether economic growth has improved citizens' well-being, its effect on Africa's position in the global economy, and concerns about the sustainability of African economic development. Also mentioned are economic trends between 1995 and 2013 such as acceleration of the gross domestic product (GDP) and modest improvement in livelihoods and poverty reduction.
