- Abstract:
- The article highlights security privatization and its impact on particular global security assemblages and suggests that security privatization is part of a broader re-articulation of the state that reworks the distinctions between the public and the private, as well as the global and the local. Global security assemblages are described as complex hybrid structures of actors, knowledge, technologies and others, across national boundaries but which operate in national settings. Rather than a process of outside forces eroding a territorially distinct interior, globalization was tackled as a process of realignment within the state.
