Popular Media and Social Change: Lessons from Peru, Mexico, and South Africa

Abstract:
The article talks about popular entertainment media and social change. The author recalls that at an international communication conference in Nairobi, Kenya, a delegate asked him about the purpose of his studies in popular entertainment media. He says that the future of the entertainment-education strategy is very clear, as shown by the fast growth in both the research and practice of the strategy.
