- The article focuses on the configuration of political elites in Iran and its importance in understanding the domestic and international policies of the country. Topics discussed include the formation of several political elites since the 1979 Revolution including the military/security forces, clergy, and technocrats, the entrance of clergymen in politics, and the importance of technocrats as political elites in the Reform Era.
