- An interview with "New York Times" Kabul Bureau Chief Rod Norland is presented. He discusses security changes, opportunities and challenges in foreign correspondence. Norland says that American mainstream media groups cut back foreign correspondence budgets at the emergence of the Internet. He cites changes in the Strat-Comm that affected press and government relations. He adds about their interactions with Afghan reporters and their Islamic State (IS) coverage.
