- Excerpt: The cane rests on your left side. You’re sitting on a white plastic chair on the porch. Your thoughts run like the murmur of the water fountain, a sculptural goddess of silence and cement from whose hands seem to sprout a nameless stream. Drowsy, you blink your eyes once in a while. I don’t know if it is caused by the monotonous cadence of the water or by the hot afternoon breath. The truth is, your glance rests on a secret point of the universe, unreachable by human possibilities.
