Bleeding Risk Scores Predict In-Hospital Outcomes in Post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Patients

Abstract:
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a life-saving procedure that re-establishes blood flow in patients with acute coronary syndrome. The major complication of PCI is periprocedural bleeding, which greatly increases in-hospital stay and complication. The PRECISE-DAPT and ARC bleeding risk scores were found to be useful in predicting post-PCI patients' risk for in-hospital bleeding. Consequently, clinicians may use these risk scores to stratify patients undergoing PCI and alter their periprocedural treatments to minimize the risk of post-PCI in-hospital outcomes.
