Concerning a conflict between Dominique Cabarrus, a trader in Bordeaux, and one Captain Dumas, commander of Le Pacificateur on voyage bound for Saint-Domingue. Instead of going to Saint-Domingue, the ship was rerouted. Includes some tables on p. 9 and 12 which describe how easily a captain could make a profit when hired to command a ship, in this case by loading for his own accounts 10 black slaves and several bales of other merchandise.
