Sabia wo see zuru ba da ba

Description

Abstract:
This song was recorded during a demonstration in 1975. In his dissertation, Koetting notes the potential value in organizing musical demonstrations with various groups and individuals throughout his field research in Ghana. He argues that the performance context surrounding many Kasena musical activities--at funerals, drinking spots, and festivals--often inhibits the making of good (i.e., clear, upclose, uninterrupted) quality music recording for teaching and research.
Notes:
Instrumentation: wui (3), gulbala (2), gulsara, gulling, gungonga, voices
Place of recording: Kayoro
Performance history: performance-demonstration
Tape location: Reel 126, Track 01
