British soldier types, 1839

Description

Abstract:
15 ink and watercolor sketches on 1 sheet signed and dated by Croome; figures and heads of Life Guardsman, Coldstream Guards, cavalrymen in stable dress, infantrymen etc.
Notes:
Croome was a headmaster and private art teacher, who continued a private 'School of Art' after the Belfast School of Design closed in July 1858. From the end of 1861 he was in charge of drawing class at Belfast Collegiate School.
