What is the effect of age on the presence of the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell in Rhode Island residents?

Description

Abstract:
Age was identified as one of the most significant predictors of poor health outcome and mortality due to COVID-19.1 Specifically individuals over 55 years of age had increased disease severity and/or mortality.2 Researchers established that the symptoms may look different based on age3, therefore this research focuses on the effect of age on more common, severe symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell within each age group of Rhode Island residents. By determining the effect of age on COVID-19 symptoms, we can better understand the differences in symptoms within each age groups and provide more tailored guidance to each age group of Rhode Island residents.
