Abstract:
Most important issue in organizing is whether the organization is sustainable. Community organizing has preserved the militant and engaging methods of the 1930’s labor movement, and can offer it back to unions that have lost their edge. Started as a protégée of Tom Gaudette in Kansas City; directed the Michigan Avenue Community Organization in Detroit; went to the IAF network; directed organizations in Omaha, Iowa, and Los Angeles.
