Original work in Italian is an extended version of the civil history section of the author's: Compendio della geografica, naturale e civile del reyno del Chile. Bologna, 1776 (published anonymously)
A companion volume to: Compendio de la historia geografica, natural y civil del reyno de Chile. Madrid, 1788, and often considered to be part two of that work (cf. title page).
