Carol Markovitz Raskin graduated from Pembroke in 1962 with a degree in International Relations. She then moved to Canada to work as in international economist with the Bank of Montreal. After marrying and having two children, she went to law school and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked as the Director of Community Development for the Legal Aid Society, providing attorneys and free legal services for disadvantaged people in the community.
