Beverly Irene Nanes, class of 1963

Abstract:
Beverly Nanes Dubrin grew up in Boston with her parents and younger sister. With constant encouragement from her parents to attend university, Beverly decided on Pembroke. She graduated in 1963 with a degree in economics and went on to hold system analyst positions at IBM and Honeywell. She met her husband at a sewing class in Cambridge and they would move to California together a few years later.

Biographical note: Beverly begins this interview with a discussion of her college selection process, gender expectations, roommates, distribution courses, curfew, honor council, and convocation committee. She goes on to discuss influential professors, married life, and the jobs she held in Boston.
