- Abstract:
- In July 2019, the Trump Administration, through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), announced a new model of care for Medicare beneficiaries with chronic kidney disease, the End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Treatment Choices (ETC) Model. The ETC Model was intended to encourage greater use of home dialysis and kidney transplants for Medicare beneficiaries with ESRD. The model was intended for traditional Medicare beneficiaries and does not apply to those in Medicare Advantage.
