- Abstract:
- This text is an editorial introduction to the section of "Surveys and Debates." It presents as an objective of the journal the popularization of contemporary Portuguese historiography, as well as the related goal of a deeper understanding on the part of the international academic community of research being done in Portuguese history in all its varied fields and methodological traditions. In this sense, the increase in internationally-oriented work on the part of Portuguese historical researchers presents itself as the logical corollary to this journal's aforementioned objective. For this reason it should be understood that this subject appears straightaway in the first issue of the journal, included in the section devoted to topics for discussion.
- Este texto é uma introdução editorial à seção de «Inquéritos e Debates». Apresenta-se como um dos objetivos do periódico a popularização da historiografia portuguesa contemporânea, assim como o objectivo relacionado de um maior entendimento por parte da comunidade académica internacional acerca da investigação feita em história portuguesa em todos os seus variados campos e tradições metodológicas. Nesse sentido, o aumento no trabalho de orientação internacional por parte de investigadores da história portuguesa apresenta-se, em si mesmo, como o corolário lógico do objectivo supracitado desta publicação. Por essa razão deve-se entender que o tópico apareça imediatamente no primeiro número deste periódico, incluído na secção dedicada a tópicos para a discussão.
