Abstract:: The author presents a historical account of the International Commission for the History of Nautical Science and Hydrography. Indicating as a starting point the first International Conference on the History of Nautical Science (in Coimbra, 1968), the paper describes the creation and organizational development of an international committee dedicated to those sciences.; O autor apresenta um relato histórico da Comissão Internacional de História da Náutica e da Hidrografia. Apontando como ponto de partida a primeira Conferência Internacional de História da Náutica (em Coimbra, 1968), o texto descreve a criação e desenvolvimento organizacional de um comitê internacional dedicado às ciências em questão.
