He apparently continued to make revisions even after the story was first published in Weird Tales, 18, No. 3 (Oct 1931). Written on the versos of correspondence to Lovecraft: Cook, W. Paul (1923 Jul 4) and (1926? May 30); Fritter, Leo (1922 Mar 13); Loveman Samuel (undated); Morton, James F. (1926?).
