Eugenio Montejo and oblique writing: A Pessoan legacy

Description

Abstract:
This article explores the heteronymic poetics of Venezuelan author Eugenio Montejo, with particular focus on his concept of oblique writing and its affinities with Fernando Pessoa. Through figures such as Blas Coll and other “oblique voices,” Montejo created an expanding corpus that recalls Pessoa’s trunk, while simultaneously developing his own vision of poetic multiplicity. By examining Montejo’s essays, poetry, and Lisbon-inspired reflections, the study reveals how Pessoa became both a model and a pervasive presence, shaping Montejo’s quest for a universal, plural identity.
