Co-Design and Evaluation of a Tool about Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) for Supporters of Individuals Receiving MOUD

Description

Abstract:
Our focus is the development of the educational tool will involve collaborative efforts between key informants/community partners (e.g. individuals who have lived experience with a family member with OUD ,opioid treatment providers) and expert researchers. The tool aims to provide evidence-based information and resources about MOUD (i.e. how MOUD treatment works, recovery course, how to support loved ones) in a succinct and accessible format like an infographic/pamphlet. Then, The co-designed tool will be digitally shared with a larger, more representative sample of key informants (N=50). Key informants will complete a feedback survey of closed and open-ended items assessing perceived satisfaction, acceptability, and helpfulness of the tool, as well as provide recommendations for improvements and methods for disseminating the tool to loved ones of individuals receiving MOUD.
