Brown community members are welcome to deposit a version of a manuscript or a publication in the BDR, depending on whether they are the copyright holder or have the permission from their journal or publisher to deposit and make public the version of manuscript/publication in the BDR.
Depositors will be required to click through a Non-Exclusive Deposit License before submitting to the BDR. In order for Brown University to reproduce and distribute submissions worldwide agreement to the following terms is necessary. By clicking through this license, you (the author(s) or copyright owner(s)) grant to Brown University the non-exclusive right to reproduce, distribute online, and preserve your submission worldwide in electronic format. You represent that the submitted manuscript/publication is your original work, and/or that you have the right to grant the rights contained in this license. You also represent that your submitted manuscript/publication does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon the publisher's copyright or copyright held by any other person(s). If the submitted manuscript/publication contains material for which you do not hold copyright, you represent that you have obtained the unrestricted permission of the copyright owner to grant Brown University the rights required by this license, and that such third-party owned material is clearly identified and acknowledged within the text. If you are the copyright holder of the submitted manuscript/publication, then you may assign it a Creative Commons license upon deposit.
Please contact your publisher or open@brown.edu for assistance with determining which version of your manuscript/publication you can deposit, when it can be made publicly available, and under which license.
