- Restraining order issued requiring Teamsters to stay away from United Farm Workers; several Teamsters charged with assault. The restraining order came in response to mounting violence between the two unions. Religious officials from the United Church of Christ and the National Council of Churches, invited by Ceser Chavez, arrived in Coachella to show support for the UFW movement.
