Coachella Valley board asks probe of demonstrators

Description

Abstract:
Wednesday night the school board requested a Grand Jury investigation in Coachella Valley Unified School District. The board voted unanimously to determine if there was criminal conduct connected to the school demonstrations. Residents asked the investigation examine district operations as well but the board decided against that investigation. The Concerned Parents group asked the school board to dismiss teachers Roman Koenig, Charles Marquez, Yolanda Almaraz, and Socorro Quintero for unprofessional conduct. The board also has to decide whether the day of canceled school will have to be made up.
