Currency, Sovereignty, and Questions of Control: The Eurozone in Crisis

Abstract:
The article discusses Eurozone in crisis particularly in reclamation of sovereignty fed by the momentum from the Brexit vote in June 2016 and unraveling of the common project deemed traditional Europeanists. Topics include reclamation from the monetary union and need of institutions to be decentralized in the making of legal, foreign and monetary policy, fiscal policies safeguarded by means of various limits such as on public debt, and winning of U.S. President Donald Trump in 2016 elections.
